Teacher Residency Program Aims to Address Delaware Teacher Shortage
In a recent article, The Delaware News Journal highlighted University of Delaware’s Teacher Residency program, housed within the College of Education and Human Development’s Center for Excellence and Equity in Teacher Preparation. To support student learning and address Delaware teacher shortages, UD has established year-long residencies where education students work in school district classrooms while earning a stipend.
“When our residents go into that first year after the residency, they feel way more prepared than their peers that have done other versions of in-the-classroom training,” said Maya Constantine, associate director of residencies.
