CEHD Assistant Professor Highlights How High Schools Struggle to Support the Aspirations of Black and Latino Boys

In a recent interview with Joe Irizarry on Delaware Public Media’s “The Green,” Roderick L. Carey, assistant professor in the College of Education and Human Development’s Department of Human Development and Families Sciences, shared insight from his study about how Black and Latino boys imagine their postsecondary futures.

In his study, Carey examines the various barriers that Black and Latino boys face and determines that “college-for-all” school cultures do not always meet the needs and future aspirations of these high school students.
