In a recent feature in Bored Panda, Martha Buell, professor and chair of the College of Education and Human Development’s Department of Human Development and Family Sciences, shared insight on the topic of child care and the role family members play.
Bored Panda turned to Buell about a Redditor’s refusal to watch her sister’s two children while she was working from home. Looking after young children requires patience and undivided attention, making it nearly impossible to do anything else, including work.
Buell noted, “With very young children they need constant supervision, and older preschoolers often need help with activities.”
