Ruth E. Fleury-Steiner
Associate Professor
Dr. Fleury-Steiner’s research focuses on gender-based violence, with an emphasis on understanding interactions between individuals and service systems in order to improve systemic responses. Her work has focused on civil and criminal legal system responses to intimate partner violence and abuse, as well as on health system responses. Much of her work has been guided by feminist and ecological perspectives, in collaboration with community-based organizations. She has been funded by the National Science Foundation and has published in Violence Against Women, Feminist Criminology, and Journal of Interpersonal Violence.
