Access: Ability Scholar
Open to all majors, students will explore, design and advocate for new approaches to disability in partnership with individuals on campus, in the community, nationally and globally.

Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer Session study abroad programs allow you to earn academic credit and fulfill University requirements while experiencing different countries and cultures.
College Ambassadors
Are you friendly, enthusiastic, dependable and enjoy meeting new people? Steele Research Symposium
The Symposium is a great opportunity for both undergraduate and graduate students to gain experience presenting in a professional setting. Students may elect to present papers or posters to faculty, guests and community members, showcasing their work for classes, research projects or toward their graduate degree. UD Scholars
This UD-wide program was established to provide a select group of high school graduates with a rigorous academic experience that will prepare them for the heightened expectations of a college environment. Students gain an understanding of purpose, scholarship, and leadership during an immersive summer institute, and receive ongoing coaching and mentoring through graduation.

Dean’s Scholar Program
UD offers exceptionally talented and highly motivated students the opportunity to develop individual programs of study under the direction of a faculty committee.
McNair Scholars Program
Low-income, first-generation, or underrepresented college students can gain extensive undergraduate research experience in their field of interest, preparing them for the rigors of doctoral school.
Summer Scholars
UD enables selected undergraduates, generally sophomores and juniors, to conduct in-depth research or creative work with University faculty. Each Scholar will receive a stipend of $4,000 (2018).
University of Delaware Alternative Break (UDaB)
UDaB provides students a weeklong experience to provide community service over winter or spring break. Student-let teams travel to high needs areas in the US or internationally to offer hands-on service to community organizations such as Bright Beginnings, Habitat for Humanity and Reading Partners.

Undergraduate Research Program
Faculty are looking for students to assist with their research. Even as a novice, you can earn academic credit and/or grant money while learning research techniques.

Serves students of high ability and demonstrated academic achievement with challenging classroom experiences and enriched co-curricular activities.
World Scholars – This innovative program is available to select, high-achieving undergraduate students wishing to become educated as global citizens. World Scholars spend their first semester freshman year abroad in one of four locations – Spain, Italy, Greece or New Zealand – followed by 4 years of experiential learning both on and off UD’s campus.

The mission of APPLE is to promote professional development, outreach, and social networking among Elementary and Middle School Education students. Our goal is to build a strong community of education students in order to provide additional support for them.

ASPIRE promotes the recruitment, retention and successful graduation of the underrepresented population pursuing a career in education or human services. Social and professional development activities encourage students to forge relationships with professionals in the broader community. Members of the organization are specifically committed to working with pre-college students to support their readiness for college and interest in teacher education as a career pathway.
Membership: Open to teacher education and human service majors.

Autism Speaks U at University of Delaware was founded in 2013 to engage the campus and local community through awareness, education and fundraising, and in doing so, positively affect those struggling with autism spectrum disorders and their families.

UD offers a student chapter of Best Buddies, to foster one-on-one mentoring relationships and leadership development with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Students Teaching Educating Enriching & Reaching (STEER) is a community of students who share a common interest in fostering young minds and creating a love of learning. Tutors of STEER travel to two different possible locations in our area and dedicate their time to helping children reach their full academic potential.
The Student Literacy Council promotes reading and reading instruction by continuously learning about the reading process and effective teaching techniques, disseminating knowledge of literacy instruction to all members and the community at large, and actively encouraging a passion for reading through serving the community in educationally-related service events.
Membership: All interested full-time undergraduate students.

Kappa Delta Pi promotes excellence in, and recognizes outstanding contributions to, education. Kappa Delta Pi endeavors to maintain a high degree of professional fellowship among its members, to quicken professional growth, and honor achievement in educational work.
Membership: Those elected to membership are teacher education majors (from all teaching fields) who exhibit the ideals of scholarship, high personal standards, and promise in teaching and allied professions. Students are invited who have attained at least second semester sophomore status and a 3.25 or better GPA. The completion of at least 20 hours of community service is required.

The goal of Kappa Omicron Nu is to promote scholarship, leadership and service in fields within Family and Consumer Sciences (i.e., Fashion and Apparel Studies; Human Development and Family Sciences; Leadership; and Nutrition and Dietetics),
Membership: Junior/Senior with at least 45 UD credit hours and minimum 3.3 gpa; graduate students with at least 12 UD credit hours and 3.5 gpa.

The SHRM Student Chapter at the University of Delaware was established for the purpose of further extending student education through finding networking and potential career opportunities in the growing field of HR. The organization also hosts events, including guest speakers in the field.

National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)
SAEYC and NAEYC provides professional development experiences for members and provide services to, and advocate for, young children birth through age 8 and their families.
Membership: Students preparing for careers serving young children birth through age 8 and their families in schools, early care and education settings, hospitals, and human services.
