Zoo program to model healthy eating

Evaluating the lmpact of Healthy Food Product Offerings and Tastimals Marketing at the Zoo.

Alison Karpyn, associate director, CRESP, is partnering with Christiana Care and Nemours to introduce a healthy eating program.

The ACE Research Awards Committee of the ACCEL, Community Engagement and Outreach (CEO) component has awarded $20,000 for a one-year project, “Evaluating the lmpact of Healthy Food Product Offerings and Tastimals Marketing at the Zoo.”

Tastimals is a way to engage kids with produce that centers around animal characters developed by CRESP. This effort will improve healthy food offerings at the Brandywine Zoo and develop a strategy that other zoos can adopt.
