UD's Lab School, which has become a leader in nature-based early education, will celebrate its 90th anniversary with a commuity event in September.

Lab School invites the community to celebrate its anniversary with alumni and friends in September

In honor of its 90th anniversary this year, University of Delaware’s Lab School will host a celebration with teachers, staff, alumni, parents and friends on September 14, 2024 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Audion in STAR Tower on UD’s STAR Campus in Newark, Delaware. All members of the community are invited to enjoy delicious hors d’oeuvres and live music with singer Reedo as they socialize with community members, learn about the Lab School’s rich history, participate in a silent auction and more.

The Lab School, housed within the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD), educates children from the age of 6 months through kindergarten and serves as a site for students, faculty and researchers to learn about early childhood education and human development. Since 2017, the Lab School has also established itself as a leader in nature-based education, educating its preschoolers in a rich, outdoor classroom.

Its 90th anniversary event will bring members of the community together to reconnect, share memories and celebrate. The event will also honor Alice Eyman, a retired assistant professor in CEHD’s Department of Human Development and Family Sciences, who served as the Lab School’s director for 23 years from 1982 to 2005.

Registration for this event is now closed.
