CEHD and DDOE Research to Improve K-3 Literacy Begins Next Month
The Delaware Department of Education and the University of Delaware’s College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) have partnered to enhance literacy and ensure equitable learning opportunities statewide. This collaboration aims to analyze K-3 literacy outcomes and administrative data on children, teachers and schools.
Leading the project is Annastasia Purinton, the assistant director of CEHD’s Partnership for Public Education. She highlights the unique approach of this initiative. “There’s a ton of data collected about children’s literacy outcomes,” Purinton said, referencing various assessments at national, state, and school levels. “One of the really exciting opportunities that this project presents is a chance to look at all of that information together,” she added. This innovative approach is set to transform how data is used to improve literacy across Delaware.
